What If Growing Up Was Never Meant to Happen Alone?
There was once a time when girls did not have to navigate the journey into adolescence alone.
They were surrounded by aunties, grandmothers, older sisters, mentors, and village women who gently guided them through the sacred threshold between childhood and womanhood.
They were taught how to listen to their bodies, honour their emotions, nurture meaningful relationships, care for one another, and trust their own inner wisdom.
They were given space to ask questions, make mistakes, explore their identities, and discover who they were becoming, all while being held within a community that reminded them they belonged.
While our world has changed, the longing for that kind of community has not…Girls Group is a weekly after-school sanctuary where young maidens can gather, grow, laugh, create, move, question, and simply be.
It is an invitation to remember what it means to grow up surrounded by community, mentorship, and care. Because our girls deserve more than simply getting through adolescence.
They deserve to feel supported, celebrated, and empowered as they grow into themselves.
A Circle for Becoming
Girls Group is a living, breathing community for girls navigating one of life's most transformative chapters: the journey from childhood into adolescence and young womanhood. It is a place to explore who they are becoming while honouring the magic of who they already are.
A place where they can show up feeling joyful, uncertain, courageous, awkward, creative, curious, sensitive, quiet, loud, or all of those things in the same afternoon. A place where they can laugh until their bellies hurt, share what is weighing on their hearts, try something new, express themselves creatively, and discover friendships rooted in authenticity rather than comparison.
There is no expectation to be perfect. No pressure to have everything figured out. No need to pretend to be someone they're not. Just a circle where each girl is invited to arrive exactly as she is. Through meaningful conversation, creative expression, movement, mindfulness, and community connection, girls begin discovering something incredibly important: They belong. Not because of how they look, what they achieve, or how others perceive them. They belong simply because they are themselves.

Honouring the Sacred Threshold of Adolescence
The years between childhood and adulthood are some of the most formative years of a young person's life. Friendships begin to shift. Bodies begin to change. Emotions become more complex. Independence grows, identities evolve, and questions deepen.
Who am I?
Where do I belong?
Am I enough?
Can I trust myself?
Is what I'm experiencing normal?
In a world where young people are increasingly surrounded by social media, comparison, unrealistic expectations, and pressure to grow up quickly, these questions can become difficult to navigate. But what if adolescence wasn't something we simply expected our girls to survive? What if we honoured it as a meaningful transition worthy of mentorship, celebration, curiosity, and care? What if, instead of teaching girls to disconnect from their bodies, suppress their emotions, or seek validation outside themselves, we supported them in developing the confidence to listen inward?
Girls Group exists to make space for this possibility. To celebrate the excitement of growing older while honouring the uncertainty that naturally accompanies change. To remind girls that their emotions are not inconveniences, their voices deserve to be heard, their boundaries matter, and their individuality is something to cherish.
This isn't about telling girls who they should become. It's about giving them the tools, experiences, and community to discover and trust who they already are.

Each Wednesday, our young maidens gather for 90 minutes of intentional connection, exploration, and play. Hosted at Aradia Fitness YEG, our weekly gatherings offer a unique combination of movement, creativity, emotional education, and community mentorship.
Movement, Courage & Embodiment: 4:00–4:30 PM | Aerial Studio
We begin each gathering with guided movement and exploration using aerial apparatus such as hoop, silks, and pole. With age-appropriate instruction and support from Aradia's experienced instructors, girls will have opportunities to explore movement, challenge themselves, develop body awareness, and discover what their bodies are capable of.
Rather than focusing on appearance, comparison, or performance, we celebrate strength, curiosity, playfulness, and the courage to try something new. We encourage girls to develop a relationship with their bodies rooted in appreciation rather than criticism.
To discover that strength comes in many forms. That trying something unfamiliar can be an act of courage. And that their bodies are worthy of respect at every stage of growth. Because confidence isn't only something we think about. It's something we can experience through our bodies.
Connection, Creativity & Community: 4:30–5:30 PM | Community Space
Following movement, we transition into our circle gathering. Each week offers a thoughtful blend of activities inspired by the needs, interests, and experiences of the girls themselves.
Our holistic approach weaves together:
- The art of council: Practising respectful listening, authentic sharing, and being witnessed without judgment.
- Nature connection & seasonal living: Exploring our relationship with nature, the changing seasons, and the rhythms of life.
- Ceremony & meaningful ritual: Creating intentional moments of reflection, celebration, gratitude, and personal growth.
- Creative expression: Exploring art, journaling, crafts, storytelling, and other imaginative practices.
- Emotional intelligence: Learning to recognize, understand, express, and navigate emotions with greater compassion.
- Mindfulness & nervous system awareness: Developing practical tools to navigate stress, overwhelm, and everyday challenges.
- Friendship & community: Cultivating meaningful relationships, kindness, cooperation, and a sense of belonging.
- Play & exploration: Making room for laughter, silliness, curiosity, and the simple joy of being young.
No two girls are exactly alike, and neither are our circles. Rather than following a rigid curriculum, each gathering is thoughtfully facilitated to meet the evolving needs of the group while maintaining a consistent foundation of connection, education, and care.

Throughout our 12 weeks together, girls will be introduced to practical, age-appropriate tools that support their emotional, physical, social, and personal development.
Together, we may explore:
✨ Emotional intelligence: Recognizing emotions, understanding their messages, and expressing them in healthy ways.
✨ Confidence & self-worth: Building a sense of self that isn't dependent on external approval.
✨ Friendships & relationships: Navigating peer dynamics, conflict, communication, and changing friendships.
✨ Boundaries & consent: Understanding personal boundaries, bodily autonomy, and respectful relationships.
✨ Body literacy: Learning about puberty, menstrual cycles, reproductive health, and age-appropriate sexuality education in an inclusive, shame-free environment.
✨ Nervous system regulation: Discovering grounding, breathing, mindfulness, and somatic tools for stress and anxiety.
✨ Self-expression: Finding their voices through conversation, creativity, movement, and reflection.
✨ Healthy risk-taking: Building courage through new experiences, supported challenges, and learning that mistakes are part of growth.
✨ Conflict resolution: Practising accountability, compassion, repair, and respectful communication.
✨ Self-trust: Strengthening their ability to listen to their needs, values, intuition, and inner wisdom.
✨ Community care: Learning how to support one another while honouring each person's individuality.
The intention is not to create girls who never experience challenges. It is to support girls in developing self-awareness, emotional resilience, communication skills, and confidence to meet life's challenges with greater trust in themselves. These are tools they can carry with them long after our 12 weeks together.
A Space Where Every Girl Belongs
At Girls Group, belonging is not something that needs to be earned. We are committed to creating a welcoming, affirming, and respectful environment where young people of diverse backgrounds, identities, abilities, and lived experiences feel valued.
Girls Group warmly welcomes cisgender and transgender girls, as well as non-binary and gender-diverse young people who feel connected to the intention of this offering. We celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and believe every young person deserves to explore their identity, express themselves authentically, and experience community without fear of judgment or discrimination.
Our gatherings are hosted within Aradia Fitness YEG, a shared movement and community environment. Girls may encounter instructors, staff, and other community members of diverse genders, identities, bodies, and backgrounds throughout their time in the space. Respect, inclusion, bodily autonomy, and kindness are foundational expectations of our community.
While we cannot promise that any environment will be entirely free from discomfort or difficult experiences, we are committed to fostering a supportive space where concerns are taken seriously, boundaries are respected, and every participant is treated with dignity.
There is room here to be yourself. There is room here to belong.

16 Years of Experience Teaching, Mentoring & Supporting Children and Adolescents
Hello, beautiful souls! I'm Hannah, and I am so grateful you're here.
For the past 16 years, I have had the honour of working with children and adolescents in a variety of educational, creative, recreational, and caregiving environments. From spending a decade as a dance teacher to working as an art teacher, camp counsellor, nanny, and childcare worker, supporting young people has been a meaningful part of my life's work.
Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand just how important it is for children and adolescents to have spaces where they feel safe to explore, express themselves, make mistakes, ask questions, and discover their unique gifts. I've seen the confidence that blossoms when a child masters something they once believed they couldn't do. The magic that happens when a young person feels genuinely seen and celebrated. And the beautiful friendships that form when children are encouraged to connect through creativity, play, movement, and shared experiences. These experiences have shaped the way I understand mentorship, community, and the importance of nurturing the whole person.
Today, through Ancient Muse Medicine, my work has evolved to support individuals in reconnecting with themselves through emotional awareness, nervous system education, embodiment, spiritual exploration, and compassionate mentorship. While much of my current work focuses on supporting adults, my passion for working with young people has never disappeared. Girls Group feels like a beautiful coming together of these two worlds.
An Ode to My Younger Self - Girls Group is deeply personal to me.
In many ways, it is a love letter to the younger version of myself. The little girl who felt everything so deeply. Who was curious about the world, fascinated by nature, connected to animals, and drawn toward the mysteries of life. The girl who didn't always understand her sensitivity, her emotions, or why she experienced the world differently from those around her. The girl who longed for spaces where she could ask questions without embarrassment, express herself without judgment, and feel accepted without needing to change who she was.
Looking back, I often wonder how different those tender years might have felt if I had been surrounded by a circle of wise, compassionate mentors who encouraged me to trust myself. People who reminded me that my sensitivity was not a weakness. That my body deserved respect. That my voice mattered. That I could have boundaries and still be kind. That friendship did not require abandoning myself. And that growing up was not something I needed to fear, rush, or navigate alone.
Throughout my own healing journey, and through years of supporting others in theirs, I have come to understand just how profoundly our early experiences can shape the relationship we develop with ourselves. So much of the work I do with adults involves gently unlearning the beliefs, patterns, and expectations they absorbed when they were young.
The belief that they are too much. That they are not enough. That their emotions are inconvenient. That their needs should come last. That they must earn love, acceptance, or belonging. And it has left me wondering: What if we could offer girls something different from the very beginning?
What if they had access to emotional education, supportive mentorship, body awareness, creative expression, and meaningful community during the years when their identities were still unfolding?
What if we created spaces where girls were encouraged to remain connected to themselves rather than spending years learning how to find their way back? That is my deepest intention behind Girls Group. To weave together my 16 years of experience working with young people and the wisdom I've gathered through my own personal and professional journey.
Not to shape these young maidens into who I believe they should be, but to offer the kind of presence, encouragement, and guidance that allows them to discover themselves. To witness their courage. To celebrate their uniqueness. To make space for their questions. To remind them that they are worthy of love, respect, and belonging exactly as they are.
This is the circle I wish I had. And it is an honour to help create it for the next generation.
With love,
Hannah ♡

More Than an After-School Program
This is more than a place to spend Wednesday afternoons. More than learning a new movement skill. More than making crafts or sitting in circle. It is an invitation to experience girlhood differently. To grow up knowing that emotions are meant to be understood, not hidden. That bodies are worthy of respect, not criticism. That friendships can be rooted in authenticity rather than competition. That courage can coexist with fear. That individuality is something to celebrate. And that belonging does not require becoming someone else.
Girls Group is a return to something many of us have forgotten. A return to village. To mentorship. To community. To slowing down long enough to truly witness one another. Because growing up was never meant to happen alone.
If your daughter is navigating the beautiful, messy, exciting, and sometimes uncertain years of adolescence, we would love to welcome her into our inaugural circle.
Together, we can help build the kind of world our girls deserve. One circle. One conversation. One courageous young maiden at a time.
